Sapiens by Yuval Noah Harari

In my last twenty years of teaching I have tried to include far more pre-history into my curriculum and to give students a better understanding of how physical evolution and societal development have led homo sapiens to our present condition and time.
If only I had the eloquence, wit and analytical skills that Yuval Noah Harari brings to the table, then this would have been a book I would have written!
The man is a genius and unafraid of constructing hypotheses that are perhaps both currently unpopular and particularly risky. It is not that the material he has processed is all recently discovered, it is that he has been able to bind together the stories of humankind (sapiens) into a coherent and convincing timeline.
My hat is raised for this achievement.
